Could a Daily 5 Minute Meditation Help Cure Acne?
Fitness isn’t just physical. It’s much more than that. And actually, mental fitness can give you the presence to listen to your body and know when, how and why to exercise.
“Every morning I take 5 minutes to give thanks. I close my eyes, breathe deeply and think of the things, people and parts of my body I am grateful for.” Jessica Sepel via A Conscious Collection Magazine.
Taking a leaf out of Jessica Sepel’s book (@jshealth), here’s how I work mental fitness into my day:
Each day, before I turn airplane mode off my phone (and get distracted by the daily influx of emails), I take 5 minutes.
- I scan my body to see how every part of me is feeling
- I make a mental note of what I’m grateful for today
- I think of the people around me
- I analyse the way I have structured my life
- I thank myself for keeping my body healthy, fit and strong
and then I’m set for the day, able to flow and flourish. And it has a BIG impact on my skin and PCOS symptoms. Thanks to a little pause before I start the day, my Cortisol (stress hormone) levels are forced to remain low and the peace of mind it brings means that I’m better able to take on any stressful situations that the day throws at me. Win/Win!
Now over to you. Drop me a line and let me know how it goes.
